When money's tight & one still wants to protect everything one has worked hard for, this camera is an outstanding addition to any budget home security system. The picture is outstanding and the Pelco-D command protocols available to the administrator make this camera far more valuable than the price may lead some to believe. The "Negative Image" protocol is great for individuals who like to use dense foliage as cover. The Dead Pixel Control [DPC] function is a very nice feature as is the Anti Color Roll feature if one is dealing with that. The Backlight/Highlight Compensators are godsends if bright/strobing lights and even mirror-reflected sunlight is employed to blind/burn one's lens. Can be viewed, modified (including Pelco-D protocols) in both network apps. Made a mistake and the picture looks terrible? Includes protocols for resetting to defaults and initializing a clean start in addition to the amount of control available at just the DVR level. And, if mounted according to Mfr. specifications, this little budget PT can take an incredible amount of physical abuse, i.e. vandalism and still run like it was unpacked that day. The Pelco-D protocols just open up a seemingly unlimited list of applications and effective methods to thwart vandals and countermeasures of the nefarious type. I wish my DVR could power 2 of them! I bought two of these to use in a detached shop/garage. The distance from the DVR was about 350;. I was using it inside with power run to each camera with its own power brick. We could not get clear picture about the person's face. After several calls to tech support, it was determined the cameras would only work at a distance of 100 feet or less. So be warned, there are sever limitations on this camera…If you want to watch very far, you will need more professional ones... (Posted on 7/9/12)

Well I bought one of these as a test to see if I could get a pan/tilt camera for this price. It is an awesome picture compared to other non P/T camera for this price. The colors in high light and med light all show up sharp and clean. At low light you can far enough away for me to focus on the object. I only issue with this camera is the P/T is slow. I understand that I can't like everything about the camera and that is the only complaint. Doesn't effect me to much since I already ordered two more and going to assign them to a group so they can work together. (Posted on 7/1/12)

This thing is of excellent/rugged quality in a surprisingly small package. The optical zoom works flawlessly and stays in consistant focus. I have not had one single issue with it so I don't know what the tech support is like. (Posted on 6/21/12)

The network settings are a little tricky, but it has many functions and I had to recycle the power once to reboot the camera b/c the pan/tilt quit responding. After a quick power reboot all was ok. It's been in operation for over a month now. I will buy another one like it for another project. (Posted on 4/26/12)

It is the only one that offers pan, tilt and zoom in an exterior camera at anywhere near this price. I am impressed by the clarity and colors. Low light vision is acceptable for in-city use. My outside lights are sufficient to see colors on the porch, and I can see the street and other houses but not as clear.
I have not had it long enough to see how high wind and rain will affect it. (Posted on 2/15/12)

The limited technology of me is not enough to complete the installation. Thanks to the guys in the tech department, I have installed the camera successfully. Good image quality!

I put one of these in on an install, a front entrance and gives a great view day or night, an going to get more for my customers, for the money it is the best. (Posted on 1/19/10)
